Slowly but Surely..

Slowly but surely I've been getting stronger every day. That nasty influenza stuff really drained the life right out of me. I feel better though and I'm going to go back to work tomorrow. This week was supposed to be spring break( well, actually it still is spring break...) and I had plans on asking my boss for the week off but alas, life sometimes has a way of making other plans....I got the time off, no questions asked..I even got to stay at home and I also got to take time off earlier than I had anticipated...fever and all...

God is good though! Even through all of this sickness He has proved His faithfulness and love. I could have gotten sick earlier this year( the doctor said that the influenza bout came late this year) and missed a ton of classes but instead I've only missed one class because of Spring break. Even though my vacation has been spent sick in bed at least I'm alive. There were a few times that I felt like I wished I was dead because the sickness was so bad but I feel like I'm coming back to life and boy, does it feel great!!! There is a song I have heard that the chorus really speaks to my heart. The chorus goes like this:
"You watch over me in the darkest valleys
You watch over me when the night seems long
You help me to see the way before me
You watch over me;
You watch over me."

Jesus watched over me and my family during this nasty illness and He was there when the night seemed long, and the valley dark. It's so good to know that I have a God I can rely on though thick and thin. Below are the words to the song "Watch Over Me." Thank you Jesus for watching over me!

WATCH OVER ME

I was lonely
You came waltzing over to me
And Your eyes they saw right through me
And You heard each one of my cries for help
And You came to rescue me
I was broken
Every prayer that I had spoken
Reached Your ears and all my tears weren’t cried in vain
You carried all my pain
And put me back together again

You watch over me in the darkest valleys
You watch over me when the night seems long
You help me to see the way before me
You watch over me;
You watch over me

Always faithful
To be leading, at this moment
Interceding for Your children
Though I’ve wandered astray from Your infinite ways
You’ve never left me alone -[to chorus]

Take this frozen heart; awaken me
Never once have You forsaken me

Even though I walk through this shadow of death
You will guide and defend me
You’ll guard and protect me
Even though I walk through this shadow of death
You will lead me home
